School Districts in Texas have been advised by the Commissioner of Education to adopt their budgets based on the expected passage of Proposition 4, which provides tax relief by raising the homestead exemption from $40,000 to $100,000. This calculator can be used to determine this savings to taxpayers with homestead exemptions as it relates to the GISD bond election. Both are on the November 2023 ballot.
